The 2009 NASBITE International
Conference a Resounding Success
As the host institution for NASBITE International, a professional
organization for the global business community, The Nance College
of Business and the NASBITE Board of Governors hosted the annual
conference in San Diego, CA on April 19-21. The theme of this year’s
conference was "Making Waves: Trade Education for Change.”
The conference attracted over 150 registrants and featured three
top notch keynote speakers, over 40 presenters, and two exciting
panel discussions: Trade Opportunities in the Current Economic Crisis
and Creating a Competitive Advantage Through Green Trade. Presentations
covered a wide-range of topics including: ethics in trade, leveraging
strategic partnerships, creating a competitive advantage, grant management,
and trade in today’s economic climate.
In addition, NASBITE announced the launch of the Certified Global
Business Professional (CGBP) Accredited Provider Program, which will
certify qualified institutions to deliver the CGBP training. We celebrated
the success of the CGBP program at the closing night luau by recognizing
all those who have earned the CGBP credential.

Conference Exhibitor
Alterntively, you may choose to simply sign
up as an Exhibitor at the conference. While Exhibitors do not recieve
the same pre-conference and post-conference benefits as our Sponsors,

Conference.

Call
for Presenters
We invite you to submit a proposal to be a presenter
at the 23rdd Annual Conference. The conference theme will be announced
in the coming months. Proposed presentation topics should address
the conference theme and/or
the needs and interests of our various membership constituencies.

In order to recognize outstanding
and innovative developments in the area of international trade
education, counseling, training, and research, we request your
nominations for the 2010 International Trade Program Excellence
Award and International Trade Educator Award.
2010 Program
Excellence Award
This award recognizes specific programs developed by institutions and organizations to meet a particular identified need. All organizations, public and private, for-profit and not-for-profit, are eligible to apply.

Trade Educator of the Year Award
The purpose of this award is to recognize innovation and excellence in international trade curriculum development, research, program development, and/or advocacy of international business issues.

John Otis Lifetime Achievement Award
The NASBITE John Otis Lifetime Achievement Award is the highest honor
presented by NASBITE International. This award honors a lifetime
of achievement in International Trade education or training by
those who have distinguished themselves through leadership or service
nationally or internationally.
