Trade Educator of the Year
NASBITE International honored Laurie Wolff of the Southern Illinois University – Edwardsville as its 2021 Trade Educator of the Year. This award recognizes Wolff for her innovation and excellence in international trade curriculum development, research, program development, and advocacy of international business issues.
Advancing International Trade Award winners
The 2021 Advancing International Trade Award winners were honored for their dedication and service in advancing international trade. The award recognizes the winners’ leadership and commitment to improving the practice of global business on a state or regional level. The 2021 honorees were:
- Katy Sinnott, Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation (WEDC) – Sinnott is vice president, Global Trade & Investment Division – State of Wisconsin, Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation (WEDC). Her strategic management and tactical approval have positioned Wisconsin and its exporters to be fully engaged participants in export development and global trade. Sinnott has streamlined the structure of international business development operations to provide higher level services to businesses at minimal investment.
- Academic Cohorts, Ohio Export Internship Program – Through a collective effort across Ohio, four universities serve as academic cohorts to prepare graduate and undergraduate students with the technical skillset needed to succeed in a career of global trade and commerce.
- Center for Global Business, Robert H. Smith School of Business, University of Maryland – The Center for Global Business at the Robert H. Smith School of Business at the University of Maryland, College Park, is a Title VI CIBE center and has long been involved in supporting the export community and providing opportunities for students, faculty, and industry alike to gain the skills and capabilities necessary to compete successfully in the global marketplace.
