The NASBITE CGBP Accredited Training Program designation is an endorsement that recognizes CGBP Training programs that have exceptional trainers, curriculum that is fully aligned with the four domains of knowledge in the NASBITE CGBP Practice Delineation, and that have a track record of successfully preparing candidates to sit for the CGBP exam.  View a directory of institutions with accreditation.

Additionally, organizations that are accredited are able to advertise their CGBP Training and their CGBP CEUs on nasbite.org.

If you offer trade training of any sort, please consider pursuing  NASBITE International CGBP Accredited Training Program status and the benefits of offering training to meet the ongoing professional development needs of our growing list of CGBPs.

Accreditation Requirements:

  1. Program curriculum and learning objectives that align with the four domains of the CGBP.
  2. At least one member of the training staff must be CGBP certified.
  3. The program accreditation evaluation will consider the prerequisites organizations or universities require for accepting students in the process. These requirements may be based on specific courses taken previously, education levels, and/or life experience.
  4. Professional development programs must be in good standing with and meet or exceed minimum requirements for the organization and type of credit being provided (CPE, CLE, etc.).
  5. University/college courses should meet or exceed the minimum requirements of the accredited offering institution.
  6. Prior to accreditation application, the program must have been provided to a group of participants at least two times.

Accreditation Fees:

  1. A non-refundable fee in the amount of $150 must be paid at the time of submitting the application. If the program is approved, the fee will be applied to the first year’s accreditation fee and the applicant will be invoiced for the remaining $250.
  2. The annual Program Accreditation fee is $400 and includes the use of the NASBITE International logo, a listing on the NASBITE website and annual membership to NASBITE International of one director. If an organization wishes to pay all three years in advance, the total fee is $1,000.

Application Requirements – Training Organization:

Training organizations must provide the following supporting documents with their application:

  1. Accredited Training Program – Training Organization application
  2. Program Expertise Verification Form (Fillable PDF: Fill, Download, Include with Application Upload)
  3. Program overview with training agenda.
  4. A list of international trade-related services. Also include the number of years the organization has been providing international trade services or training.
  5. The number of CGBP training seminars organizedT and the number of participants each year including the focus of the training. Online courses will need to submit the number of CGBP training seminars organized if not continuously offered and the number of participants each year.
  6. A list of training staff that is CGBP certified with resumes and/or cover letters.
  7. A list of all program materials including but not limited to textbooks, handouts, websites, and supplemental materials that were used by staff and participants. These materials will be reviewed prior to accreditation. Please note, the Accreditation Committee may request the applicant to submit copies, samples, or extracts of any or all training materials for review.

Application Requirements – Universities/Colleges:

Universities and colleges must provide the following with their application:

  1. Accredited Training Program – University/College application
  2. Program Expertise Verification Form (Fillable PDF: Fill, Download, Include with Application Upload)
  3. Syllabus of supporting course with CGBP training content as defined by NASBITE International
  4. Requirements of any international business minor, major or certificate offered
  5. Number of semesters/terms the course(s) have been taught with CGBP training content as defined by NASBITE International
  6. List of staff that is CGBP certified with resumes and/or cover letters.
  7. A list of all program materials including but not limited to textbooks, handouts, websites, and supplemental materials that were used by staff and participants. These materials will be reviewed prior to accreditation. Please note, the Accreditation Committee may request the applicant to submit copies, samples, or extracts of any or all training materials for review.

Accreditation Validity Period

Program Accreditation is valid for a period of three years. When the three-year period ends, the organization will need to complete the Continuance of CGBP Program Accreditation Application. Continuance of Accreditation:

All organizations must provide the following with their continuance of accreditation application:

  1. Continuance of CGBP Program Accreditation Application
  2. Submit proof of performance with an average CGBP exam pass rate of 75% for the past two years with at least three sittings of students during the former accreditation period.
  3. Submit any documentation of changes or updates made to the program or training staff.

Once the Continuance of CGBP Program Accreditation Application has been approved, program accreditation will be valid for another three years.
