As the regional director of the Small Business Development Center at the University of South Florida (SBDC at USF), Eileen Rodríguez leads the Center’s 10-county area in its legislative and community outreach. She is also responsible for securing funding, building strategic partnerships, and leading initiatives that foster entrepreneurship in the Bay area.
Eileen joined the SBDC at USF in 1997 as a Certified Business Professional, providing business consulting and educational seminars for pre-venture and established businesses. She specializes in international business and trade, women and minority owned business, and is a NASBITE Certified Global Business Professional.
In developing the SBDC at USF’s international program, she formed its International Trade Certificate Program, which is one of only 11 NASBITE International accredited trade assistance programs in the world. She has recently received the Certified Trainer designation from NASBITE. Eileen also designed the SBDC’s Growth Acceleration Program (GAP), which caters to mature business entities’ diverse needs in developing sustainable growth strategies.
Eileen’s extensive experience as a businesswomen and business owner allows her to provide specialized knowledge and skills necessary for developing small business’ growth. Prior to joining the SBDC, she owned an environmental consulting firm and is a licensed professional geologist in Florida and Puerto Rico.
