The NASBITE International Certified Global Business Professional (CGBP) certification is based on a 165-question, multiple-choice exam. The exam is made up of 150 “testable” questions that count toward the final exam score and 15 pre-test questions that are being evaluated by NASBITE International. The pre-test questions, randomly distributed throughout the test, do not count towards the exam score.
The exam is conducted via live online proctoring and requires the candidate to connect via their computer from a location of their choice. Review additional technical requirements.
Candidates have three hours to complete the closed book/closed note exam. It is recommended to allow additional time before the scheduled exam start time to support set-up for the virtual exam.
The CGBP exam tests competency in the following four primary domains: Global Business Management; Global Marketing; Supply Chain Management; and Trade Finance. The tasks and knowledge statements can be found in the NASBITE CGBP Practice Delineation.
- The CGBP is designed to meet the needs of individuals working in the profession or studying for a career related to international trade. Candidates from both small and large companies will benefit, as will students in two or four year degree programs. The credential is also suitable for individuals working in trade assistance organizations, trade promotion agencies, and related educational institutions.
- In order to sit for the CGBP exam, the candidate must have completed either 1). Two years of college-level study (in any field), or 2). Must have worked in the field of international trade for two or more years.
- During the registration process the candidate will indicate which path confirms their eligibility (see 1 or 2 above).
Scores on the CGBP Examination are reported as scaled scores where the highest possible score is 800 and the lowest reported score is 200. A scaled score of at least 500 is required to pass the examination.
Candidates will receive "Pass" or "Fail" notification of their exam performance immediately following completion of the exam. Your official score report details will be sent about four weeks after the close of the exam window.
