Congratulations, you’ve earned the CGBP credential! Now what?
As a CGBP, you will be required to maintain your credential through continuing education activities. Participating in these activities enhances professional development ans sustains the value of the CGBP credential by encouraging, recognizing, learning, and offering mechanisms to attain professional development.
Beginning January 1, 2016 all CGBP credential holders will be required to submit 10 CEUs and an annual re-certification each calendar year. The re-certification fee is $75 for those due to recertify starting January 1, 2019.
How do I submit my re-certification payment?
Log in to your NASBITE account, click on the tab “My Transactions” and set the drop-down list to “Open Order & Invoices”. Click “Pay Open Orders”and select the order for your $75.00 re-certification fee on the next screen. Follow the payment wizard and an email confirmation will be sent to the email address we have on file.
If you wish to pay by check, make the check payable to:
9 Newport Drive, Suite 200
Forest Hill, MD 21050
What activities are worth CEUs?
Any activity that applies to any of the four domains of the CGBP (global business management, global marketing, supply chain management, trade finance) and is sponsored by a legitimate organization can be worth credits. Participation in re-certification activities will be counted as a 1:1 ratio. For example, a 2 hour webinar on international marketing would be given two credits.
The best way to ensure credits for participating in activities is to attend Pre-Approved Re-certification Courses. For a current list of our Pre-Approved Courses, click here. If an activity is not listed on the Pre-Approved Courses page, it does not mean the activity is not worth credits, send the information about the activity to firstname.lastname@example.org and it will be reviewed by NASBITE for credit approval.
Here is a list of some of the ways you can earn credits:
- Attendance in an accredited or NASBITE approved profession-related program
- Attendance in a government sponsored profession-related program
- Attendance at the NASBITE International Annual Conference
- Publication of relevant, peer-reviewed materials related to the focus of the CGBP Credential
- Developing learning materials and/or coursework relevant to the CGBP credential
- Speaking at events on subjects related to the CGBP credential
How do I submit my credits?
Fill out the CEU submission form and email or fax the form to NASBITE Headquarters with your supporting documentation. Your submission will be reviewed and you will be contacted if more information is needed or if the submission is declined. Once the submission is approved, the credits will be added to your account and you will receive a copy of your submission form with an approval stamp. Please keep this copy for your records.
Credits do not carry over from year to year.you may obtain and submit an infinite number of CEUs every year, however only 10 will count for the year and regardless of the number of CEUs obtained in one year, none will carry over to the next year.
How do I view my submitted credits?
You can view your submissions by logging into your NASBITE account and selecting the “My CEU Submissions” section.
