Anthony Cambas, CGBP
International Trade Specialist, University of Mississippi
Anthony Cambas is a former U.S. Customs Official with more than 20 years of public and private sector experience in international trade and development in a variety of areas and capacities including export manager, international marketing, automation of international trade processes, international trade data analysis and government enforcement official. Tony is a native Floridian who came to the Center for International Trade and Development (CITD) at Oklahoma State University via Illinois where he worked at both Southern Illinois University at Carbondale (SIUC) and Bradley University in Peoria providing assistance to entrepreneurs and small and medium-sized companies on international trade issues and exporting goods and services. Anthony has served on a variety of international development and technical assistance programs in areas of customs reform and modernization, free trade agreement implementation, trade facilitation, rules of origin enforcement, and risk management as both a U.S. Customs Official and as Senior Consultant/Chief of Party on USAID, EU and other projects in Africa, Asia, and Latin America. Tony is multilingual and holds a bachelor’s in international relations and a certificate in Latin American and Caribbean studies from Florida International University in Miami, a master’s in international customs law and administration from the University of Canberra in Australia, and post-graduate certificates in exporting, political economy and philosophy from the Escuela Superior de Econmia y Negocios (ESEN) and the Universidad Centroamericana – Jose Simeon Canas (UCA) both of which are located in El Salvador. He also holds various professional international trade-related certifications and credentials including, Certified Customs Specialist (CCS), Certified Global Business Professional (CGBP), and Licensed Customs Broker (LCB.).
