MBDA Business Center in Sacramento, CA

 

The MBDA Business Center is hiring for two positions to support its business-and trade development activities – a Business Development Specialist and a Program Manager. The MBDA Business Center works closely with other federal and state programs to assist minority and disadvantaged businesses in accessing new markets, grow in size, and maintain competitiveness.

 

Business Development Specialist provides program and project management support to the Project Director.

Starting salary: $62,000

Experience: Applicants should have

  • At least 3 years of work-related experience in a program providing technical assistance and/or consulting in international finance, trade or business economic development sector.
  • Strong project management experience with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Windows based software and willingness to learn MBDA CRM software.

 

Program Manager supports the Program Director to plan and execute events, webinars, and business development activities to serve potential and existing clients. S/he will work closely with partner organizations and subject matter experts to develop project activities and initiatives designed to attract new MBDA clients and support existing clients.

Starting salary: $62,000

Required skills and qualifications

  • University degree in business development, marketing, business management or international trade, and MBA preferred.
  • Strong understanding of small businesses, U.S. government grants and contracts, U.S. government reporting and planning process.
  • Excellent planning, project management and personnel management skills.

The Industry Trade Advisory Committees are a public-private partnership that engages business leaders for formulating U.S. trade policy. The U.S. Trade Representative (USTR) and the Secretary of Commerce have established a new four-year charter term for the ITACs and are accepting applications from qualified individuals interested in serving as members.

The ITACs provide detailed policy and technical advice, information, and recommendations to the Secretary of Commerce and the USTR regarding trade barriers, negotiation of trade agreements, implementation of existing trade agreements affecting industry sectors, and perform other advisory functions relevant to U.S. trade policy matters. The industry advisors serving on the ITACs provide valuable input as the Administration advances its trade agenda to improve economic opportunities for America’s businesses, workers, and consumers.
