How do I maintain my CGBP credential?
Once you become a Certified Global Business Professional (CGBP), you will be required to maintain your credential through continuing education activities. Recertification enhances professional development and sustains the value of the CGBP credential by encouraging and recognizing learning and offering mechanisms to attain professional development. Beginning January 1, 2016 credential holders will be required to submit 10 CEUs and an annual $50 recertification fee each calendar year.
What is the cost of re-certification?
The annual processing fee to maintain your CGBP credential is $50.00.
How do I pay my annual re-certification fee?
Log in to your profile, click on “My Transactions”, set the drop-down list to “Open Order & Invoices”. Click “Pay Open Orders”and select the order for your $50.00 re-certification fee on the next screen. Complete the payment wizard and an email confirmation will be sent to the email address we have on file.
How many CEUs are required?
CGBPs are required to obtain 10 CEUs per calendar year in order to remain in good standing. Attendance and/or participation in approved CEU activities will be counted at a 1 to 1 ratio. For example, attendance at a 2 hour export compliance workshop presented by an International Trade Assistance Center will be credited 2 CEUs.
CEUs will not carry over from year to year. You are required to submit 10 CEUs every calendar year. You may obtain and request an infinite number of CEUs every year, however only 10 will count for the year and regardless of the number of CEUs obtained in one year, none will carry over to the next year.
How do I submit annual CEUs?
Fill out the CEU submission form and email or fax the form to NASBITE Headquarters with your supporting documentation. Your submission will be reviewed and you will be contacted if more information is needed or if the submission is declined. Once the submission is approved, the credits will be added to your account and you will receive a copy of your submission form with an approval stamp. Please keep this for your records.
How do I view my CEU submissions?
You can view your submissions by logging into your NASBITE account and selecting the “My Professional Development” link. Your submissions are located under the “My CEU Submissions” section.
How do I know if a program I have attended or plan to attend will count for CEUs?
Generally, if the program covers any of the four CGBP domains (Global Business Management, Global Marketing, Supply Chain Management, or Trade Finance) and is sponsored or presented by a legitimate government agency, credit will be given. The best way to ensure credit for participating in programs, is to attend pre-approved programs.

If a program is not listed on the NASBITE website, it does not mean the program is not worth CEUs. To find out if the program is worth any credits, send the information about the program to email@example.com. The information will be reviewed and you will be told the CEU worth.
