It is with great sadness that we share the passing of our friend and colleague, Katie Arroyo. Katie joined the NASBITE International Board of Governors in 2016 and served on several NASBITE task forces working to carry out the work of the organization. Her kindness and energy will be missed.
Katie joined the Florida SBDC at UNF as its International Trade Specialist in 2013. Over the past five years, Katie served as leader and mentor for the Florida SBDC Network’s statewide International Trade team, whereby she was a remarkable role model and adviser to many.
Among her many life accomplishments, Katie was a remarkable young professional who served as an exceptional representative for the Florida SBDC both locally and nationally. She also served on the North Central West Florida District Export Council, the UNF International Studies Advisory Committee, and Brookings Institution Global Cities Initiative’s MetroJAX Export Plan. She was awarded the Florida SBDC’s 2015 Florida Innovative Service and Best Practice of the Year Award for her co-development of the International Marketing Matrix, and was an instrumental contributor to the Florida SBDC Network’s recognition and receipt of the President’s “E” Award for Export Service. Her clients sung her praises and her commitment to their success was unmatched. Katie will be missed.
A remembrance service is being hosted by the Arroyo family on Saturday, March 24th at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 4450 Harden Blvd., Lakeland, 33813. There will be a visitation at 10:00 am, a service at 11:00 am and a fellowship to follow. https://www.lakelandfuneralhome.com/tributes/Kate-Arroyo
