Welcome to NASBITE International
NASBITE International is a professional organization for the global business community. Our members include global business educators and trainers at academic institutions; trade specialists at federal, state and local trade assistance organizations, and practitioners that engage in or facilitate global business activity.
The goals of our organization are:
- To coordinate and administer the Certified Global Business Professional (CGBP) credential.
- To promote an exchange of information and resources among global business education and assistance professionals.
- To offer professional development for those engaged in global business education and assistance.
- To provide advocacy and leadership for global
business education and assistance professionals.
A message from the President of NASBITE International
 Welcome to
the NASBITE International website. Cleveland State University’s Nance
College of Business is our host organization, and they are working
hard to make the web presence helpful and easy to use for you.
Having been a member of NASBITE International since 1992, I have
seen the organization grow into a professional group of dedicated
trade educators and service providers. The organization is
focused on advancing the practice of international business, with
the most significant advancement being the development of the NASBITE
Certified Global Business Professional (CGBP) credential. More than
500 trade professionals have passed the exam and have earned the
CGBP designation.
As the importance of this credential grows in the
business and trade community, NASBITE International is working hard
to take the credential to the next level. Congratulations to Cleveland
State’s Colette Hart (who also serves on the NASBITE International
Board of Governors and Executive Committee) who was awarded a Business & International
Education (BIE) grant from the US Department of Education for 2009-2011.
A significant component of this grant is dedicated to developing
materials for CGBP trainers and helping to assess the on-going development
of the credential.
Our future is bright. We have several openings
on the Board of Governors, so if you are interested in serving on
this working board, get your applications in. We are particularly interested in having representation from all areas of the country as we
continue to grow our membership.
The Executive Committee met in August
to chart our plan for this next year. Make plans to join us in Austin,
Texas for our 23rd Annual Conference 7-9 April 2010. We are planning
some energizing key note presentations along with our popular high
take-away value sessions. The social events will be special to highlight
being in Austin, the Capitol of Texas.
We look forward to your joining
us. Help us take NASBITE International to the next level by bringing
your colleagues to the conference and by earning the NASBITE CGBP.
