Certified Trainer Program

The CGBP Certified Trainer designation represents NASBITE's endorsement of an individual's competency (knowledge, skills, and attitudes) required to effectively facilitate "learning transfer" of the Certified Global Business Professional practice delineation among candidates seeking the credential. Exemplary CGBP Certified Trainers are concerned about participants, are knowledgeable in their subject, relate theory to practice and their field to other fields, are confident, are open to different approaches, present an authentic personality in the classroom, are willing to go beyond class objectives, and are able to create a good atmosphere for learning.

Credential Requirements:
- Must be a member of NASBITE International and a CGBP in good standing (currently recertified).
- Must possess five (5) years of international trade experience as a trade advisor, educator, trainer, or any combination thereof.
- Must possess a four (4) year degree or five (5) years equivalent work experience.
- Must deliver and document a minimum of three (3) CGBP trade trainings within an active three-year period.
- Must utilize or list and make available to participants NASBITE training resources (e.g. CGBP Study Guide, Student Pathway, Student Pathway Plus, CGBP Practice Delineation, CGBP Practice Exams, CGBP Exam, CGBP Exam Prep Plus).
Note: Existing Certified Trainers need only maintain their CGBP recertification annually, and document a minimum of three (3) CGBP trade trainings within an active three-year period.
Application Requirements:
The primary purpose of the CGBP Certified Trainer program is to support continuing and professional education activities that increase the number of CGBP test-takers and improve the exam pass rate. The CGBP Certified Trainer fee of $300 is due upon the applicant's approval by the Accreditation Committee, and is good for three (3) years. Individuals interested in becoming a CGBP Certified Trainer must submit the following information.
- A concise 1-2 page resume or CV.
- Expertise Verification Form.
- A minimum of two (2) letters of reference from international trade professionals and/or trade educators attesting to the applicant's subject matter expertise and trainer competency.
- A list of seated and/or virtual international trade training deliverables (e.g. courses, keynote addresses, lectures, panelist, presentations, seminars, webinars, workshops, etc.).
- A portfolio of instructional materials prepared and delivered by the applicant, demonstrating depth and breadth across CGBP domains (e.g. lesson plans, publications, slide presentations, syllabi, training handouts, video recordings, etc.).
